Gluten Free Vices

Going Gluten Free Sucks – Here are my favorites that make it a little better.

Diet · She Tried It First

I had to go gluten free after a medical diagnoses. It was challenging at first, but a few things made it easier. I cook almost every night and most of my every day meals were affected by this diet change. Lucky for me, and now you, I found some amazing gluten free alternatives.

Gluten Free Top Picks

1. Cheez-It Baked Snack Crackers, Gluten Free

The second these hit store shelves I ran and bought 3 boxes. They taste BETTER than I remember regular Cheez Its tasting. They also work great crushed up as breading for GF fried chicken! Keep your pantry stocked with these.

2. OREO & CHIPS AHOY Cookies – Gluten Free!

When I say these taste just like the regular ones, I’m not lying! My husband recently ate my GF Oreos instead of his regular ones on accident and didn’t notice until I pointed it out. He said they are 1:1 and really tried them side by side.

3. Barkwhiz Dog Puzzle Toy 3 Levels

Yes that’s right, a DOG puzzle for my cat. If you find your cat is too smart for a simple cat puzzle, this one is sure to change the game. Vinny’s favorite area of this puzzle is the push lever.

4. GoCat Da Bird Rod and Feather Cat Toy

I don’t know what GoCat is doing to make these bird toys more enticing than the other brands but it is WORKING. Vincent goes absolutely feral for Da Bird.

5. 120 Pack Cat Spring Toy

You may be thinking “do I need 120 of these?” The answer is yes. This is the ultimate spoiled cat experience. Springs are flying around my house as I type.

6. Waaiio Automatic Moving Cat Ball in Pouch

This ball GOES! It runs all over my house like a small animal and chirps like one too. It turns on by itself (not unlike a cursed Furby) and get’s Vincent hunting like a tiger in the wild. The pouch is nice for keeping the ball contained but I usually let it on the lose.

7. SAFAVIEH Home Collection Tufted Velvet 24-inch Round Floor Pillow

Stop buying “pet beds”, buy high quality floor pillows they’ll actually use for the same price as a pet store thin gross bed. This one expands beyond Vincent and has been loved by more than one of my lovely cats. They turn their noses up at regular cat beds.

8. Beastie Band Cat Collar

These are my go to pick for cat collars. They are soft, stretchy, and comfortable. No hard plastic to dig into skin here. My cats are usually collarless but when I’m out of town or take them out of the house I pop their Beastie Band on with an air tag just in case.

9. YEOWWW!  Banana 3 Pack

Yeoww brand catnip toys are fan favorite in this house! These bananas get tossed around all day long. I recommend getting the 3 pack to keep the fun going.

10. One Fast Cat – Cat Exercise Wheel

I’m putting this item last on the list as it may be out of many cat parent’s price range, but from my experience it was worth ever penny. Vincent runs like Cheetah on this wheel every day. We’ve had the One Fast Cat Wheel for about 5 years and it’s been his go to for stimulation from day 1.
